This bespoke kitchen at Lambarde Square, London, was completed in 2021 as a new installation, combining birch plywood construction, FENIX NTM Nero Ingo finished fronts and 44 mm oiled solid oak worktops and open shelves.
The project was developed in co-operation with a designer appointed by the customers. The designer established the visual concept, while JS DECO translated it into a functional, technically resolved and manufacturing-optimised kitchen. A defining challenge was the 120-degree junction within the room, rather than the 90-degree corner more commonly found in kitchen layouts.

Developing the designer’s concept for manufacture
The starting point was a clear concept prepared by the customer’s designer. JS DECO’s role was to develop that concept beyond its visual direction and resolve the details required for everyday use, accurate production and installation.
This involved coordinating the fitted cabinetry as one composition, refining the relationships between the tall, base and wall units, and ensuring that the material changes remained consistent across the room. The project illustrates how collaboration between a designer and a specialist manufacturer can preserve the original design intent while making the furniture practical and ready for production. Resolving an unusual 120-degree kitchen angle
One of the defining technical features of the room was its 120-degree junction. Most fitted kitchens are developed around 90-degree corners, so this geometry required a project-specific response rather than a standard corner arrangement.
The worktop runs and fitted cabinets were developed around the actual angle so the change in direction became part of the composition. This allowed the kitchen to follow the room accurately while maintaining a controlled relationship between the working surfaces, lower cabinets and wall-mounted furniture.
Birch plywood, FENIX Nero Ingo and solid oak
All carcases and drawer boxes were manufactured from birch plywood. The doors also used a plywood core and were finished with FENIX NTM Nero Ingo, creating dark, visually consistent elevations while retaining plywood within the construction.
The darker fronts were balanced by 44 mm oiled solid oak worktops and matching open shelves. The oak introduces warmth and visible natural grain, while the FENIX finish gives the cabinetry a calm, understated appearance. Used together, the two materials define the character of the project without relying on additional decorative elements.

Integrated elements and open storage
Integrated appliances were coordinated within the fitted furniture, together with a ceramic sink and continuous solid oak working surfaces. Enclosed storage occupies most of the composition, while the open oak shelves interrupt the dark elevations and provide accessible display areas.
The result is a kitchen that retains a strong architectural character without becoming visually uniform. The open sections, oak surfaces and fitted dark cabinetry each have a distinct role, but remain connected through consistent lines and carefully developed junctions.
The completed Lambarde Square apartment kitchen
Completed in 2021, the Lambarde Square kitchen brings together the designer’s concept, JS DECO’s technical development and a material palette based on birch plywood, FENIX NTM Nero Ingo and oiled solid oak. The unusual room angle was absorbed into the fitted layout rather than treated as a separate problem, allowing the cabinetry and worktops to read as a coherent installation.
