Birch plywood construction, clearly specified
The wardrobes shown here include examples made from 18mm birch plywood. Their exposed layered edges and natural internal surfaces make the construction visible when you open a door or drawer.
Choose the visible finish and the cabinet construction together. Natural birch, veneers, paint and laminates offer different appearances; a wood-look surface alone does not describe what the cabinet is made from.
Drawing on over 30 years of cabinetmaking experience, we agree the carcasses, doors, backs, drawer boxes, edge treatment and hardware in your project specification. Thickness and construction are confirmed for each component and application.
Accurate manufacture and assembly support a square structure and consistent alignment. Hinges and drawer runners, including Blum hardware where specified, are selected for the furniture and its intended daily use.

Useful storage starts behind the doors
We plan internal storage first: long and short hanging, drawer stacks, shelves and accessories. The door layout and external proportions are then developed around that arrangement.
Widths, heights and depths can be adapted to alcoves, sloping ceilings, chimney breasts, uneven walls and full-height rooms. This helps reduce unnecessary voids, oversized fillers and awkward gaps associated with fixed-size systems.
Drawer storage brings smaller items into view, while shelving can accommodate larger pieces and changing needs. Pull-out shelving, laundry storage, rails and lighting preparation can be considered within the design and budget.
Reach, door swings, drawer clearance and access still matter: the aim is usable storage, not simply filling every centimetre.
Bring the wardrobe and surrounding furniture together
Plywood wardrobes can be planned alongside drawer units, open shelving and a dressing or work surface. Coordinating their materials, edges and proportions helps the furniture feel like one considered arrangement.
The existing collection includes a plywood wardrobe and desk with drawers and a laminated top, as well as corner storage and open shelving. Use these details as a starting point for the furniture your room needs.
We can discuss integration with skirting, cornices and other room features. Existing furniture, sockets and circulation are part of the brief.
Keep the natural character of birch visible, introduce a veneer, or use a painted or laminated finish. We discuss samples, edge details, durability and care alongside the internal specification.
Natural birch, stained finishes and veneers
Natural wood character can bring warmth to a bedroom. Clear, stained and veneered finishes give different results; samples help coordinate the furniture with the wider interior.
Painted plywood wardrobes
Paint offers flexible colour choices and a clean, considered appearance. The finish system, edge treatment and care requirements are agreed for the intended use.
Laminate and FENIX finishes
The white FENIX wardrobe in the gallery pairs a smooth external finish with birch plywood inside. Laminates offer additional surface choices for doors, internal components or a coordinated desk top.

Door alignment, internal storage and finish details

As an indicative guide, fitted wardrobe cabinetry is typically £5,000–£10,000+ including VAT. Larger bedroom and dressing-room schemes may require a higher investment, while smaller, simpler projects may fall below this guide. Your quotation depends on the size, internal layout, doors, finish and accessories.
Drawer quantities, hardware, awkward room geometry, scribing and on-site finishing can all affect the cost. A simple wardrobe run and a complete bedroom scheme should not be compared on length alone.
Share photographs, approximate measurements and a budget range so we can discuss feasibility and priorities. Delivery and installation are quoted separately; confirm the full scope and exclusions in your quotation.
Supply, delivery and installation
We manufacture in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and work on UK-wide projects depending on scope and scheduling. Supply-only is possible for selected projects, alongside delivery and installation arrangements.
For supply-only furniture, measurement and installation responsibilities need to be agreed before manufacture. Final dimensions, access and site readiness are checked as part of developing the project.
Allow an indicative 2–6 months from design confirmation to delivery or installation, depending on the specification and workshop schedule. Confirm current timing when enquiring.
From the first sketch to finished furniture
Brief and initial estimate. Send room photographs, measurements, storage needs and your preferred finish. We discuss feasibility and budget.
Design and quotation. Following the agreed design deposit, we develop the layout, visualisation and specification with you.
Approval and manufacture. The agreed drawings, materials and internal layout are confirmed before production is scheduled in our workshop.
Delivery and fitting. Supply-only or installation arrangements are agreed for the project, with attention to access, alignment, scribing and finishing.

“If you think that bespoke cabinets are out of reach then think again! After an 11-year wait we finally remade our kitchen. Our original plan was to purchase standardised pre-made cabinets.
However, we discovered that for not that much more money we could design EXACTLY what we wanted. We selected JS DECO LTD, master premium bespoke furniture carpenters. Jacek and his team worked closely with us to bring the kitchen design to life, ensuring that we, the architect and the building team were aware of all possible options and giving us practical advice about what might work best.
JS Deco also were meticulous on the installation, ensuring everything was solidly fitted and looked excellent.
