This case study delves into the creation of a large modern-style kitchen with an island that combines functionality, ergonomics, and vast storage potential. It showcases the meticulous selection of premium quality components, including Blum hinges and drawer runners, cabinets and doors constructed from a plywood birch core finished with highly durable Fenix Grigio Antrim grey and Fenix Bianco Alaska white, topped with granite worktops.

This bespoke kitchen project, based in London, was a collaboration with one of our partnering architects. It was an ambitious endeavour designed to meet specific requirements regarding materials and form, set forth by the architect, while optimising durability and design.

The project was meticulously planned based on precise architectural and design drawings prepared by Jernej Cencic Studio. These served as the foundation for our collaboration, where we fine-tuned the designs to achieve optimal durability and form. Our team’s expertise allowed us to recommend enhancements that stayed true to the architect’s vision while ensuring the final product’s longevity and functionality.

Once the layout and specification were approved, the cabinetry moved into production. Because this kitchen was manufactured fully bespoke rather than based on fixed modules, each cabinet was built to match the room geometry, service positions and appliance allowances precisely. During production we validate cabinet alignment, drawer clearances and internal layouts in the workshop so installation on site is fast, clean and predictable.

The outcome of this collaboration was a modern, spacious kitchen that met the client’s and architect’s high expectations. The bespoke design perfectly complemented the available space, providing a stylish yet highly functional area that became the centrepiece of the home.

This project involved a complete reconfiguration of the ground floor space. The original layout was structurally prepared but empty, with exposed services, incomplete walls and no defined cabinetry zones. The aim was to create a large, handleless FENIX NTM kitchen that would feel calm, architectural and seamlessly integrated into the extended living area.

At this stage, the room was fully stripped and prepared for installation. Services were visible, electrical positions were marked, and the exposed brick chimney breast required careful consideration within the final design.

The finished result is a fully bespoke, extra large kitchen constructed with birch plywood carcasses and finished in white and grey FENIX NTM laminate. The handleless layout enhances visual flow, while the large central island creates a strong focal point and social hub within the space.
